What is deference between Bridges and culverts ? Types of bridge and culverts

A structure is constructed which is allows passege to cross drainage or water streem or valley .The structure may be provided for railway or road way or for pedestrians .
  These structures are classified into two types they are given below.

• Bridges
• Culverts

Bridge:
The structure can be constructed for any passege (which is mentioned above) by length of span is above 6m .
The passege which is length of span is above the 6m is also known as bridge.

Culverts:
The structure can be constructed for any passege which is the structure length is less than 6m is also known as culverts.
   The culverts are generally used for small drainage system and small Rever.

Classification of bridge:

• The bridge are classified into following conditions.

1. According to marital used in bridge.

• Timber bridge
• R c c bridges
• Steel bridge
• Masonrybridge

2. According to location of bridge

• Deck bridge
• Through bridge

Timber bridge: The bridge is  which is constructed by timber is also called as timber bridge.

RCC bridge: The bridge is which is constructed by concrete with steel is also called as RCC bridge.

Steel bridge: The bridge is which is constructed by the steel members is also called as steel bridge.

Masonry bridge: The bridge is which is constructed by the masonry material is also called as masonry bridge.

• According to location of the bridge

Deck bridge: when the floor of  the bridge is supported on the top the supporting system is called deck bridge.

Through bridge: when the floor of the bridge is supported at bottom of the supporting system is called as through bridge.

Classification of culverts:

The culverts are classified into two types they are given below.

• Arch and slab culverts 
• Box and pipe culverts

Arch culverts: The culverts are which is constructed arch shape by using masonry is called arch culverts.

Slab culverts: The culverts are which is constructed slab with reinforcement is called slab culverts.

Pipe culverts: The culverts are which provides pipe s as  culverts is called pipe culverts.

Box culverts: The culverts are which is constructed rectangular box shape by using concrete is called box culvert.
